black & beige

I'm currently working on a night gown; a friend of mine asked me to design her a long dress for a wedding she's got coming up... the only thing she requested was: "as long as it's black"... which I agree, with black you are always safe.

Anyway, I don't think the colors look super adequate in the drawing as they are, my scaner is not that pro so I don't usually get the images on digital as they are in the real drawing, but I'll post pictures as soon as I've got something done, I MUST have it done by next week!

I'd like to add a few comments about designing clothes for not so very skinny girls... it's important to always design clothes that will fit the person wearing them; we designers must try to make them look great, flatter their bodies, aim to what's best for their shape.

My friend is really really big busted and kind of big shaped in the hips and belly too, average height and average legs, actually.. great legs, she's super toned!.. makes me envious haha.. anyway, I chose the imperial cut on the dress, which will diffuse her belly and hips, the chiffon will fall great on to the floor without bulking up or pointing out any trouble area on her body.
The halter top is flattering for any girl, I decided to cover a little bit more the cleavage with a fabric under the one forming the halter straps, so that her chest is slightly less noticeable but also lifted; big breasts need a support.

I still don't know if I want the beige/peach chiffon to show from the side, like in the first drawing or, show from the center, like the third girl in the drawing... my friend will have to decide.

What do you think?
