This is what I wore today... I was inspired by Beetlejuice, well.. actually not that much, but yesterday I watched the movie at Warner Chanel and felt a terrible need to wear black and white stripes like the suit Beetlejuice's wearing.. gosh I love that movie!

reality is for those who lack imagination
Here are one of my favorite imaginative people:

William Shakespeare

The Beatles
Ludwig Van Beethoven

L. Frank Baum
The responsable of writting one of the best stories ever: The Wizard of Oz.
How he came up with all those characters and fantasy lands still is a mystery to me.

Chagall
His paintings offer a true illusion to our eyes. His magical landscapes are purely out of his imagination. He gives us a dream world where everything is possible and everything is wonderful.
William ShakespeareMost famous English author and all time most influential dramatist in the world.
No greater drama nor other love story has ever matched his masterpiece: Romeo and Juliet.

Betsey Johnson
At the moment she steped out and launched her very own first collection, she showed us the incredible imagination that lies in her mind. She's delighted us with gorgeous clothes that magically transport us into a dream land.
The BeatlesWhat is there to say?... They are after all "The Beatles"... enough said.
Ludwig Van BeethovenOne of the most famous and influential composers of all time.

Alexander McQueen
One of the most talented fashion designers the world has ever seen. He not only created innovative garments, it seems his work came from an imaginary world inside his head. His unconventional and dramatic designs, shock tactics and incredible work will last long in history.

Andy Warhol
Vincent Van Gogh
He painted what he felt, not what he saw.
He shared us what was going on in his poor tormented mind. A mind he wanted to let out through color explosions, filled with an extremely high emotional impact. One can almost feel what he felt just by looking at his paintings.
His powerful symphonies are out of this world; one can hear only a bit of them and immediately travel into a different dimension.
Even when his hearing began to deteriorate, he continued to compose, conduct and perform; even after becoming completely deaf: GENIOUS

Andy WarholHe took ordinary things and turned them iconic. Who else would be able to transform a soup can or a soda bottle into a desirable piece of art?

Note: I know I left out a lot of cool people like Tim Burton, Mario Testino, Jane Austen, Jim Morrisson, Janis Joplin, Valentino, Walt Disney!... among others, but hey!.. I didn't want to use them all in one post, gotta leave some material for the future, right?

pretty in pink

I designed like 10 different styles of pink dresses for a friend of mine who's attending a "Pink Party". She wanted something simple but classy, she chose the one with one puffy sleeve and balloon-like skirt. I'm waiting for her to send me pictures, she looked great when she tried it on and I'm sure it will be fantastic tomorrow at the party.
Here are some pictures I took when I finished the dress...

Chanel inspired
Remember this dress?

A couple of weeks ago I wrote a post about this dress; well actually I just uploaded the sketch.
A friend of mine was looking for a last minute dress for a wedding but couldn't find one.. so she turned to me and I had to magically make time in my schedule to design and produce her dress. She only said 3 things to me: "simple, elegant and most importantly, don't make me look fat!"
Eventually she told me she preferred it black so immediately I thought about Chanel; what else is simple, elegant and black?
I made the dress with black and beige chiffon and a little black podesoir in the waist line to give her some shape.
I decided to leave a side of the dress open, so that the beige fabric could be seen; it really was an amazing color and the clash of both looked gorgeous.. I told her to accessorize with pearls earrings and bracelets; wear nude or black nail polish; smoky eyes, rose/pink-ish lips... a total Chanel look.

fashion at the tennis court

The little black tennis dress has created a lot of commotion at this year's Roland Garros tournament in France.
Venus Williams has been playing in this little lace dress that looks more like a corset or baby doll instead of actual tennis gear; although, I do love it.
The Williams sisters launched their own clothing line long ago, whether they get successful sales or not I do not know, but they always manage to wear their own pieces on the tennis court. There's no better publicity than that.
Parisians have been manifesting their dislike to this little lace dress; I really don't know if it's appropriate for the tennis court, but as I said before, I do like it and I think that Venus, the number 2 tennis player in the world; can do whatever she desires to do, she's earn it.
What do you think?... très chic or très faux?
