Marie Antoinette's party... something I came up with the other day.. I've been spending a lot of time with digital tools.. it's nice for a change but still I preffer pencil and paper.. that's just my style.

I'm totally making myself the red dress on my drawing, maybe I'll wear it on a christmas party or something like that... stay tuned.

And the Halloween costume-making madness continues!

So far I've finished the Harajuku lover (pictures shortly, I promise!), cruella de' vil, selena, batman accesories, poison ivy, mad hater and minie mouse... I'm still 3 costumes short and Halloween is just a week away!

Right now I'm working on a catwoman costume.. I sketched 2 different costumes, the old version with Pfeiffer and a more modern one like Halle Berry's; my client chosed Halle's.

Gotta' get back to work..

I tried a new hair do today..

Neon yellow has been my obsession since spring. Will I get to wear it this winter? I doubt it.

This might be one of the last times I get to wear neon yellow clothes.. good bye old friend.. I'll have to trade you for velvet, plaid and leather... I'm so hoping for winter to come.

On my previous post I mentioned I was asked to design and make a "Harajuku Girl" Halloween costume... this sketch shows what I came up with..

Let's see how this turns out to be.. I'm loving the clash of colors.

What's the deal with Harajuku girls??

I've been requested to design a "Harajuku" outfit as a Halloween costume... I immediately thought of Gwen Steffani's harajuku back-up dancing girls, but my client does not want that; she wants to look exactly like an original harajuku girl from Japan.... The first thing I did was some research.. I did not know why they dressed so wacky.

"Harajuku" is the common name for the area around Harajuku station in Tokyo, Japan. Every Sunday, tons of teens dressed in variety of styles, including anime, lolita, goth and decora, among others.. spend the day in Harajuku socializing. The fashion styles of these youths rarely conform to one particular style and are usually a mesh of many.

Harajuku is also a fashion capital of the world, renowned for its unique street fashion. Many prominent designers and fashion ideas have sprung from Harajuku and incorporated themselves into other fashions throughout the world.

The term "Harajuku Girls" has been used by English-language media to describe teenagers dressed in any fashion style who are in the area of Harajuku.This fashion infuses multiple looks and styles to create a unique form of dress. The cyber-punk look takes its influence from gothic fashion and incorporates neon and metallic colors. However, it isn't as popular as it was in the 1990s.

I think it would be fun to dress like that every sunday.. changing styles, going crazy on the outfit, accesories and attitude.. I'd feel like a totally different person. I'd go for pink wig, checkerboard and neon colors, tights and socks and pins all over.. and of course.. embracing 100% hello kitty.

A little something I came up with last week, once again.. just playing around with photoshop software.

I took this picture of my sisters last summer. The image on the background is something I found on the net, so I can't take credit for that and I don't know who's it's from either.. but I love it. I took the color off that image and just left the rainbow shinning bright.
