Remember those gorgeous outfits that consisted mostly of maxi skirts and maxi dresses paired up with hats and flats that Brigitte Bardot wore on the 70’s? Or how about the really long skirts that were iconic during the 90’s grunge vibe? …Clarissa explains it all, Cher Horowitz (Clueless), Rachel Green (Friends first seasons) and Carrie Bradshaw (Sex in the City first seasons) rocked them in different ways.
Well… those maxi skirts are back.
Since last year, a lot of designers sent maxi skirts and maxi dresses to the runway, and although we didn’t see them that much out on the streets, seems they wanted them back this season too. Jil Sander made them in bright colors; Lanvin went for transparent and silk fabrics; D&G did denim maxi skirts; Calvin Klein, Derek Lam, Etro and Bottega Veneta among others, made them incredibly vaporous and fresh, moving from side to side as models walked by.
If you’re looking to change your style a little bit this spring, why don’t you try the maxi skirt trend and leave the mini skirts behind for a little while; many celebrities are doing it: Kate Bosworth, Alexa Chung, Erin Wasson, Kate Hudson, Nichole Richie, Olivia Palermo and the list goes on.
