fashion meets tennis

As a devoted follower to tennis and fashion, I love when they both meet and get connected to one another. Anna Wintour, the Queen of Fashion; was spotted yesterday at the Sony Ericsson Open semifinals; no doubt in support of her close friend and #3 tennis player, Roger Federer; who got defeated by Rafael Nadal.

Tennis has rapidly evolved into one of the most popular sports; more and more players are sent to play against each other at the courts, all fighting for the title of being #1; which is now held by Danish Caroline Wozniacki and the Spanish God, Rafael Nadal; who was recently named as the most influential person in Spain.

This elegant sport has also become very attached to the fashion industry. Russian players, Maria Sharapova and Anna Kournikova have modeled for several designer brands; former #1 player, Roger Federer has claimed to be a big fan of fashion and attends to Paris Fashion Week often. Most tennis tournaments even host fashion shows and sell exclusive tennis gear designed by high fashion designers such as Stella McCartney (ADIDAS by Stella McCartney).

Clearly, this is the next step of fashion, which has now managed to get inside the tennis courts and will continue to filter in all other sorts of unexplored territories.

For those of you attending tennis matches, I wrote a few tips that will help you choose an outfit so you can also look amazing inside of outside of the courts. Read it here!
