the look: wintour+wimbledon+PRADA
Anna Wintour, fashion and tennis lover was spotted yesterday at Federer's game vs. Tsonga wearing a super cool PRADA outfit from the spring 2011 collection.
Love that she loves tennis, supports his friend Roger Federer by attending his games and looks absolutely cool at the matches. I've said it before and I say it again.. tennis and fashion go great together.

C'est la vie...
Sometimes you see things in movies you'd like to live... and I'm not talking about flying, singing on stage or becoming a princess in one day.. I mean simple things that you know you could do but just never get to doing them.
This is one of my favorite scenes in movies... and it's an awesome movie as well, Pulp Fiction by Quentin Tarantino. I'm totally channeling this dance, this date, this moment (without the hamburgers 'cause I'm a vegetarian)... I'm in the mood of doing something different than what I usually do on weekends; I'd like to twist in a burger place on my bare feet just like them for a change.

Yet.. another pair of gals rocking the black and red outfits... and my favorite items are on their hands... Chanel Iman's gold clutch and Kesha's shinny silver glove are the perfect touch to their entire looks. That's how the rolled at the amFar Inspiration Gala at the MET in NYC.

currently working on: white one shoulder dress
This is a dress I'm currently working on.. a request from one of my clients who's attending to a wedding in Rosarito, Baja California, it's a small beach on the outsides of Tijuana.
She wanted something simple but chic.. and the dress code is white so the dress had to be white.. I think she's going to look pretty classy for a beach wedding...

Image of the day at fashionista.com. Kate did this ad for Agent Provocateur Bridal a few years ago and I think it's hillarious now that Kate Middleton's stepping out on the scene.Which team are you, Moss or Middleton?
I guess it's obvious I'm a Moss follower all the way...

the look: wimbledon

(photo via InStyle.com)
Sienna Miller attended Ralph Lauren's Wimbledon bash wearing a white lace dress (Ralph Lauren) and black booties. I know I've posted too many white lace dresses with black booties but I can't get over this look, I love it.. and with Sienna's hair on this photo, I think she's totally going for a Madonna 80's look... love it!

currently working on: the ultimate challenge!
wahhh!!
I've just been informed about a party hosted by "Televisa" (national tv channel/network) that will take place in my city next thursday. Lots of important people from the network, celebs and magazines will come and cover the event on national television... I must take this as an opportunity to present my work as a designer! ... that's why I'm gonna wear a dress made and designed by me.. unfortunately I've got nothing for a red carpet event that suits me so I'm starting right now, from scratch.. will I be able to finish it, send it to the drycleaners and have it ready for thursday?!! it's only 2 days away, I feel like I'm a contestant at project runway...
Here's the sketch of the dress... I decided to work with materials and fabrics I already had 'cause I don't want to spend more money.. I've got lots of things going on right now and I need to save up on whatever I can... The fabric I had the most was white podesoir and white chiffon which is perfect because I've been meaning to wear a white gown for ages and I hate that I can't do that at weddings...

I still haven't decided on the lenght.. long or short? .. help me out on this one, will you?... what do you think?
Anyway, I thought I'd share my challenge with you guys... I'll keep you posted on whatever happens but meanwhile, please excuse my abscense for the next two days.. I'll be super sewing..
Ciao!

the look: green-blue

Gaga performed and got awarded at the 22nd Annual MuchMusic Video Awards at the MuchMusic HQ in Toronto, Canada. A quick change from the bawld head she showed off in London just a few days ago.. she went from no hair to green-blue wigs and must say I'm loving this color shade on her.Oh.. and this time she chose to wear Versace to the event.. everything you see in these photos is Versace, from head to toes.. of course I'm loving the suit on the last photo: black, leather, studs.. it's got my name written all over.

trend report: girls in suits

The boyfriend look has been gaining popularity the last couple of years, Paul Smith, Dries Van Noten, Calvin Klein and Michael Kors added their own personal touch to their “masculine-feminine” proposals.
The baggy boyfriend look is great for day, but at night one could choose a more fitted garment; give the tuxedo a twist, add your personal touch with bows, printed scarves or bright colored shirts; and even make it more feminine with short shorts or skirt instead of pants.
Olivia Palermo rocked the man suit with her choice of pants: skinny-cigarette pants, totally channeling Audrey Hepburn in “Funny Face”. Chloe Sevigny never ceases to impress us with her adventurous fashion moves; she’s often preferred suits and tuxedos for important events.

Not convinced yet? Just listen to one of the toughest women out there, Madonna… “Girls can wear jeans, and cut their hair short, wear shirts and boots.. ‘cause it’s OK to be a boy” (from the song “What it feels like for a girl”), too bad boys can’t do the same and choose to wear skirts.. That’s only our thing.

back to the future
I've been talking about the collection I presented a couple of weeks ago at a local fashion event; the lookbook's almost ready and I can't wait to show it to you guys, hope you like what you see 'cause I'll be giving away one of those garments.. stay tuned!
Anyway, here's a video I found on youtube that someone took at my fashion show.. it's not a perfect one but you'll at least get a sneak peak of my collection, "back to the future" inspired... oh and the background music is a song called "Punching in a dream" by the naked and the famous.

the look: a night at the museum
Diane Kruger attended a Gala at the Louvre Museum with honey Joshua Jackson wearing this neon bright dress by Alessandra Rich. Though I'm not particularly fond of it, 'cause I think it makes her look a bit older.. I must say the clash of colors look awesome: lime neon green lace with a bright orange belt by PVC, nude platforms and gray clutch by Alexander McQueen... coolness! I think this is a fun choice of colors for a Gala night.

Emma

Photographed by Vogue's one and only Mario Testino, Emma Watson looks stunning at this month's edition; this was my favorite look of the entire spread. Emma wears a Tom Ford gold chain-mail top, Undercover skirt with brass feather overlay and a Louis Vuitton clutch... golden queen.

the look: "I don't think you're ready for this kelly"

(photo via thedashempire.com)
I don't think we see a lot of the other two ex-Destiny's Child... it's always Beyonce the one that captures the attention... but to tell you the truth, I've always felt Kelly Rowland was my favorite one and right now she is totally earning that spot in my mind.
This time, Kelly scored some paparatzzi photos while leaving her building, and why wouldn't she? .. she's rocking the look: blazer by Whistles, tee, skirt & necklace by Moschino, shoes & clutch by Alexander McQueen, sunglasses by Stella McCartney, rings on her right hand by Sass & Bide, rings on the left hand by Beazie Roberts... fashion addict perhaps?
I'd say you do as me and play some old tunes by Destiny's Child.. my pick: "Bootylicious (I don't think you're ready for this jelly)"

interview at THEpurpleBOW blog
I was pretty flattered when a dear friend of mine invited me to be featured in her brand new blog; there's an interview with very revealing info about myself as well as some photos she took at my studio when she came over, we had a lot of fun.

Anyway, I'd really like to encourage all of you to visit her blog called the purple bow; it's pretty girly and chic, just as she is. She's a young mother and loves interior and fashion design the most; she is constantly sharing her thoughts and favorite quotes among other things.. I say we give her a nice welcome to the blog community by paying a visit to her blog... I know you won't regret it.
Happy tuesday earthlings!

inspiration: think pink

(Scarlett Johansson in Lost in Translation, Kirsten Dunst as Marie Antoinette, Gwen Steffani, Natalie Portman in Closer, Nylon México April 2011, Elle México, Agyness Deyn at Anna Sui's 2008 show, Molly Ringwald in Pretty in Pink, Anja Rubic for VOGUE Australia-April 2011)
I'm currently feeling inspired by the exquisite color I recently dyed my hair in... I'm thinking pink!
