drawing room: she wants to be everything

-“When they asked me what I wanted to be I said I didn’t know.
-"Oh, sure you know," the photographer said.
-"She wants," said Jay Cee wittily, "to be everything.”

friends?
"I don't know how to act around you anymore... I don't know how should I behave with you.... Everyone says I should stay away from you, that I'll only hurt you if I keep talking to you as if we were friends" - he said.

Ms. Nora Digger Dinsmoor: She'll only break your heart, it's a fact. And even though I warn you, even though I guarantee you that the girl will only hurt you terribly, you'll still pursue her. Ain't love grand?

the look: just out of the car

(photos via in style magazine)
This is how these gals step out of the car... in style!
1. Rachel McAdams may not be wearing an outstanding outfit on this photo, but as you look closely you've got to notice those amazing shoes on her feet! ...Brian Atwood ruffled heels ladies...
2. Jessica Alba went for the color block trend and though I'm not a huuuuge fan of color, I kind of like it, especially on her.. she's never that much of a fashion risk taker. She's wearing an ombre jacket, orange Acne sweater, printed trousers, a Jack Vartanian emerald ring and nubuck Barbara Bui sandals.
3. Kate Moss.... enough said. The picture speaks for itself.

drawing room: channeling frida kahlo
Frida.. what would you do?I often imagine what would Frida Kahlo do if she ever was in a situation I'm going through.
It's nothing new for me to talk about her.. if you've read my blog, you must know by now she is one of my biggest muses; an amazing inspiration... a heroine.
Frida... if you can hear me.. I'm reaching out to you... illuminate me... what would you do?

it's not fair...
(photo via we heart it)
It's not fair.. I woke up super sick yesterday.. soar throat, fever, headache.. ugh.. and I thought I was so lucky for not catching the flu this winter... anyway, I still managed to get some work done 'cause I've got loads of it right now.
Today I woke up still feeling kind of sick.. I'd just like to spend the entire day in my pj's, tucked in my bed, drinking cups of tea or toffee nut flavored coffee or eating noodle soup; watching good old movies.. like the one in the image above... "My first kiss"... I can't remember when was the last time I saw it but I love it!
It's not fair.. nothing happens to boys!

the look: glamorous
(photo via our religion is you)
This is an "old" photo, from the ELLE style awards on 2010; but I just saw it and went nuts over the entire outfit.. could she be more glamorous??
Ashley Olsen rocked a vintage Christian Lacroix dress in that event.. the fur I don't know who's it is from but I love it.. oh and the cute lavender/pink-ish shoes are Fendi.
Would you wear this look???
I most certainly would!
I loooove the red fur stole (prefer if it was faux), the neutral tones of the see-thru skirt and shoes... it's just a dream...

drawing room: heart vs. head

The heart or the head... which one will win?
I still don't know... sometimes the heart appears to be winning and at the next moment the brain starts kicking it until the heart's down again and bleeding...
When it comes to deciding... which one do you follow?... your heart?, your head?... what if they are both wrong?... it wouldn't matter who won the fight.. in the end, it would be wrong.

I tend to run and hide
(leopard print hat, faux fur coat and red skirt made by me, gliterry nude top by H&M)
Just a quick snap shot of what I wore last night... I was totally channeling Edie Sedgwick's spirit with that leopard print hat.

cada quien carga su propia cruz
(wearing a yellow neon top made by me, faux leather skirt fomr forever 21, nude pumps from H by Halston and a silver cross earing by Lola Bassó)
"Cada quien carga su propia cruz"... spanish words for "everyone carries their own cross"... it references the cross that supposedly Jesus Christ held all the way to the top of the hill when condemned to death... It's a very well known phrase in México, it expresses how we all have our own problems and griefs; they may be different from one another but we all carry our own cross.
Of course I'm only thinking about this because of the cross earring I'm wearing, or should I say "carrying".

inspiration: marla singer
(photo via tumblr)
It's not the first time I've featured miss Marla Singer from The Fight Club as an inspiration; I can't help it, I love her character so much; she's a wreck, she's trouble, she's danger, she's an alcoholic, she's a maniac smoker, she's obsessed with death... she doesn't care about anything...
I wish I didn't care about anything.. that way I wouldn't be able to feel anything either... and by that, my heart would be completely untouched... unlike now... which is bruised, bleeding and broken in more than 3,000 ways.

Trend report: peplum silhouettes
Last fall season welcomed a couple of new trends into our wardrobes and though not all of them may make it to the next one, there is one particular trend that gathered a lot of power, becoming one of the must-haves of the 2012 spring/summer season: the peplum silhouette.Read all about it on my article for examiner.com, click HERE!

I made this illustration for...
Have you read Avy's blog?... it's called My Mother fucked Mick Jagger.... the sole title made me so curious when I saw that name on someone else's blog that I immediately had to click on that link and found a fabulous place. She's an incredible writer.. just read one of her stories and you'll see what I'm talking about. That's why I decided to sketch a little something for her, based in one of them called Surviving a Storm... she featured my drawing yeterday... hope you go there and take a look.
